I have 2 daughters, one of which is now in college and another who is a high school freshman. Having bought 3 prom dresses so far with another 3 in my future I know the costs can run from a great find of about $20 up to $600 or more. I think the best thing to do is find a dress that only looks like a million bucks... because nobody needs to know how much you didn't have to spend!
Fun and easy to dance in, this is one my youngest daughter would love. Iridescent purple, made from 60% polyester/40% nylon, it has a simple floral detail at shoulder with a pleated bust and pick up hemline. Available from size 3 through 13 and is currently listed for $40.80.
A very hot style this season - very similar to the dress my son's girlfriend is wearing tomorrow night for their prom! Available in sizes 3 thru 13, this long satin looking gown shimmers in shades of blue reminiscent of the ocean. Actually made from a more durable polyester, it has a wide strip of bead detail at the waist with an open back and twist straps. It's listed right now for $57.60.
If you have a beautiful build and don't mind clingy curves, this strapless evening gown is only $49.99 and looks like it should sell for 3 times as much. Available in red, blue and black and in sizes small, medium or large, there is detailed sizing charts for you to order by and better yet? The link I included here also shows you about 7 photos of 'real people' who have already bought this dress so you can see what it looks like on real people.
One of my all time favorite 'everything' dress choices. Prom, wedding, graduation, Easter... you name it, this dress is it. Currently listed for $59.99 it continually gets high ratings from other people who have already purchased it. Available in size x-tra small through 3X there is a size for literally almost anyone and it comes in a rainbow of shades! White to red, blue to black, purple to burgundy. Classic and pretty!
