Give the Gift of a Gingerbread Man Mix in a cute Fabric Bag

Last night when I got home from work, I went down to the storage area to dig through the boxes and retrieve all my holiday baking files, photos, idea's and recipes.

That means great idea's for you too! Like this simple gift of a gingerbread mix tied up in a rustic holiday fabric bag with a cookie cutter tied on with raffia or twine.

So simple... so affordable, but it's a gift anyone would love!

The cuteness is in the bag so let's start there!

A Simple Fabric Bag for Gift Giving

11" X 25" fabric of your choice (bigger or smaller as you wish!)
Sewing machine
thread
iron (optional)
Raffia or twine
1 cookie cutter
Sharpie style marker

Your fabric can be whichever size you desire but remember to add at least 1/2" to the size when cutting to allow for a seam. Fold the fabric in half so the right sides are together (that means the patterns face each other so it looks inside out to you). Finger press the folded edge. Use a 1/4" seam allowance to sew the edges or sides of the bag together. Fold the top of the bag edge over about 1/2 inch and press with an iron to form a seam or finger press and then stitch in place. Turn your bag inside out. You're done with your bag!

Use your favorite Gingerbread Cookie recipe - mixing the dry ingredients only and do not add the butter, molasses, vanilla, eggs or liquid ingredients.

Print the recipe instructions on the outside of a large Ziploc style baggy with a Sharpie style marker. Something similar to this - but USE THE DIRECTIONS FROM YOUR RECIPE;

"Make your own Gingerbread Men!"

Pour this mix into a bowl and add;
1/4 c molasses
2 T coffee
1 lightly beaten egg
1/4 c butter

Mix well. Roll out on a flat surface to 1/8" thick and cut with a cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degree's for 7 minutes.

Pour the dry mix into the baggy and seal. Place the baggy inside your fabric bag.
Tie several lengths of raffia or use twine into a bow to tie off the top of the bag. Attach the cookie cutter to the bag with an additional piece of raffia or twine or hot glue it on. You can add a little handwritten note or tag if you wish. Give the gift as a hostess gift, a teacher gift or a neighborhood gift - just for a few ideas.
