Quick and Simple Summer Investment: Flowers

As I sit and sip my coffee and stare out the patio door to the backyard of my own and my neighbors beyond, I am taking a moment to revel in color. Easy to miss when I'm in a hurry and on the worlds time clock, this morning I'm taking 1 minute to stop. Let it all sink in.

And what sinks in?

Color.

Brilliant color that makes me feel calm, smile and breathe deeply. The color of nature actually. Dark green bushes with fuchsia flowers. Light green leaves on the young trees. Kelly green leaves on the Oaks and brilliant purple and red blossoms on the planted flowers surrounding all.

Color.

Right now a simple investment to add life and color to your deck or patio is to invest in a brightly colored sun-friendly plant such as a hearty geranium. At local DYI stores, nurseries and even your local grocery stores and Walmarts, the plants can be bought for $6-20 and add such a wonderful finishing touch to your backyard or front porch.
