I think I've probably made it pretty obvious that the last place I
hope to be the day after Thanksgiving is shopping. Oh, I may end up there...
never say never... but I firmly intend to spend the day entertaining my father-in-law that morning, driving him part way home later and then spending the afternoon baking.
If you're like me and don't want to brave the crowds on Black Friday to find deals on appliances, camera's, clothes and jewelry, then heads up readers! I have an announcement to make. How does your calendar look this week? Yes,
before Thanksgiving. Getting a jump start on the holidays, the sales, the shopping and the crowds is
Sears Pre-Thanksgiving Sale. I was just at their website and saw they have numerous promotions going on that you may have been too busy planning your Thanksgiving menu to take note of;
free shipping
layaway
cash back
instant savings
... just to name a few!

I was heading over to the electronics pages myself, as I'm scoping out a camera for one of my teens. My 7th grader and her friends are at that age where doing their hair and taking a billion pictures of themselves is all the rage. Luckily for them they have digital cameras and not the 'film' style I had to use when I was her age. She's had a camera on his 'list' for two years but this is the first year we feel she is old enough to take care of it, and it happens that Sears currently has a Sony 7.2-megapixel digital camera for $129.99 (after a $50 instant savings). That is less than I paid for my little 5 megapixel!
If you fancy heading out into the cold, dark, early morning hours of Black Friday, then by all means go ahead! But beforehand you might want to grab a few items while the 'gettin is good'
before Thanksgiving.
