A Cheaper Alternative to an Expensive Kitchen Gadget; A basting brush

I just finished baking a batch of homemade whole wheat garlic pita chips and as I got ready to clear away my mess I stopped and thought; "Omgosh this is a Budget Barbie Moment!" You see, there is something in my kitchen I've used so much and so long that I don't even think about it... but maybe this hint will help someone else.

Need a pastry brush? A basting brush? And you don't want to spend $10 on one (I don't blame you... with all the thousands of things I bake and cook I won't buy one either!) but once when I needed one I looked over and saw a bunch of new cheap paintbrushes I had bought at the store to have on hand for our next paint project. I decided to commandeer the smallest brush for my kitchen! It's been a great addition! I use it to brush on bbq sauce, oil, butter, mayo and more. And the best part? Totally goes right into the dishwasher and is much cheaper than the $10 pastry brush the store wants. I think I paid about $1.47 for it.

*Note*
If you look closely you can also see that to avoid confusion I wrote "FOOD ONLY" on the handle. LOL.
