Making Money Online is an Ongoing Learning Experience

3.05.2008

When I resigned from my job last year, I did so with one thing in mind; I had to make enough money each month to pay for my truck payment. Granted, it's not a big payment, but it was the only way I could 'allow' myself to quit working at the office (as we need every penny I can make to add to the budget or we may just have to move into an old refrigerator box and live under a bridge). And, in the past year I've been able to do so, meeting my goal with a host of small income generators whether it be affiliate links, advertising, sponsored posts or doing surveys. However! You can never 'stop' learning and it's always good to keep your eyes and ears open as it's an ever evolving online world and when you stop listening and learning, you stop earning.

While reviewing a website about how to make money online by The University Kid, I went there with no preconceived conceptions. A clear mind, fresh eyes. My first thought was 'nice header', second was that the right hand side of the page (where all the ads and links are) was a bit jumbled and hard on the eyes. But once I got past that and started to read the 'meat' of the site I liked what I saw. Not only did I glean a little bit of information I could use about the importance of RSS Feeds (I know I'm not putting enough time and effort into that myself) I also liked his writing style. He writes like he talks... which earns high marks in my book as that is exactly how I post as well!

The only laugh I got was when I clicked on his page titled 'how I make money online' and saw a slam for Pay-Per-Post. I had to smirk when I saw that one. He also taught me about the importance of friendly contests and commenting, which I knew but it's always good to be reminded and to know that it works for other people. Overall, a good site to visit with a lot of great content. Making money online is a many tiered process and this guy seems to have a pretty good hold on it. Much to be learned and worth checking out!
