Homemade Bubble Bath

This morning when I looked at my page, deciding what to post this morning, I saw the shower curtains and thought; Bubble Bath! So I guess we are keeping with a 'bathroom' theme this morning even though, ultimately I was supposed to still be doing the prom dress theme. Ha. I'll do that too. But in honor of homemade shower curtains made from bath towels, I'll tell you the secret to making homemade bubble bath. Glycerin. Yep, that's it. It helps the bubbles last. It's what you use when you make your children homemade 'bubbles' and it's what you add to shampoo and water.

Don't choose a shampoo that says anything on the bottle about being 'low foam' - which most do not, but in the last 20 years I've seen one that did. It was a private company 'aloe vera' style shampoo and was not supposed to get sudsy. (Very difficult to wash your hair with by the way...).

Homemade Bubble Bath

1 c shampoo
3/4 c water
3/4 t glycerin

Mix together shampoo, water, and glycerin. Place in a pretty or decorated bottle and label as Bubble Bath. You can also add about 5 drops of essential oil if you would like enhance the scent of your bubbles. I'd suggest lavender, peppermint or almond.
