This post happens to capture both. The company is called Lillian Vernon and to be truthful I don't remember a time when I wasn't familiar with her products. Before the internet changed how we shopped and got information we used postal mail. Sure enough, her catalog was one of the many that my mother got. I grew up flipping through the catalog and circling the things I wanted my Mom to buy me.
It's no wonder that when I married my husband and we had our first child, I ended up purchasing our babies birth announcements through them. Oh, they are not in the birth announcement business, but I found some great 'insert your photo here' cards with fabulous frames and blank inside so you can write your own message. Our message was the weight and date and name of our first born.
Over the years I've stopped receiving their catalog and instead do my shopping online. I was going to take a picture of the last item I ordered from them; personalized skate bags for all three of my kids. Except - well, they are personalized and I don't want to use my kids names on my website so I'll just tell you that we have some fabulous roller blade skate bags that get comments from everyone who see's them.
