Affordable Homemade Caramel Macchiato's



I admit, if I had an extra $5 to blow every day I'd swing through the nearest coffee shop and get a caramel macchiato every day. In reality our 'budget' only allowed me to get one about every 2 months and now that I'm a full time housewife again I will be cutting that down to about once every six months.

But guess what? I now can make my own - and you can too! A much better budget-friendly morning drink and can save you $25 a week on your morning java.

I found a sugar free version of Caramel Coffee Syrup at Target for just under $5 and that is what made me brain storm making my own. I tried it and am now hooked. Tastes just like the 'real deal' at the coffee shop and I can now make my own for pennies on the dollar.


Homemade Caramel Macchiato

Strongly brewed coffee (or espresso if you have a machine!)
Archer Farms or other brand Caramel Coffee Syrup
Hot steamed milk (use a steamer if you have it or microwave about 1/2 c of milk)
Redi-Whip spray whipped topping (in the refrigerator section of your grocer)
Hershey's Dulce de Leche flavor caramel syrup (by the ice cream toppings)


Amounts are going to vary to your own taste and how sweet or 'caramel' you want your drink. I would start with about 1 tablespoon caramel syrup in a mug. Add strong hot coffee to about the half way mark of your mug. Fill the second half with the steamed or microwaved hot milk. Top with whipped cream and drizzle the caramel syrup on top.

I use a little less syrup, espresso and steamed milk in mine and it came out exactly as St*rbucks tastes. Delicious!
